Getting Your Boss To Say Yes
No.
That’s usually the first answer you hear.
Getting your boss to agree to an idea can sometimes feel less like a conversation and more like preparing for battle.
You need a strategy. Tactics. A backup plan. And, ideally, a backup plan for your backup plan. Because when everything falls apart, even ChatGPT can’t save you.
You have to get creative.
It’s basically the adult version of being a kid asking your parents for sweets. You don’t just walk in and ask randomly. You wait for the right moment. You check the mood. You make your move when the conditions are perfect. Or asking Uncle George for money after he’s had a few beers. Timing is everything.
Getting a yes isn’t just about the idea.
It’s about the logistics. The reasoning. The delivery. Knowing when to push and when to retreat.
Now, I can’t give away all my secrets…
Mainly because there’s a very high chance my boss will read this.
So I’ll leave you with this:
The best ideas don’t always get approved because they’re the safest. They get approved because you’ve made it impossible to say no.
Good luck.
