Ibiza: Working With Drunk People (A Survival Guide)

Alcohol and work is a complicated combination.

It’s a bit like going back to an ex you already know is going to hurt you. You know it’s probably a bad idea… but somehow you’re back in the same situation.

Trying to stay professional, capture the perfect content and execute an activation whilst being handed drinks at O Beach is a unique skill.

It’s like trying to avoid an HR complaint at the Christmas party.

Let’s just say… the team headed to Ibiza.

Did we come back in one piece?
Barely.

Did we avoid the hangover?
Somehow, yes.

Did we deliver a successful campaign?
Absolutely.

The funny thing was, we weren’t even the ones we had to worry about. The team were surprisingly responsible. It was everyone around us who had no idea we were working.

Picture the scene:
A random guy dressed as the Compare The Market meerkat. A completely unnecessary argument with his mate happening mid-shoot. Joel Corry playing in the background. A Love Island winner dancing nearby.

And there we were, trying to capture it all.

A normal day in music marketing.
Somehow, amongst the chaos, the sun, the questionable decisions and the tequila-fuelled energy…

We got the content.
Campaign of dreams.
